Kids and Art

Whether you are a parent or grandparent, I have a brilliant idea for you to spend quality time with the young ones in your circle.

I must confess that the idea is not my own, but that of an author friend. Connie had written a short story decades before her granddaughter was born, but when the young girl read the story, she wanted to draw the pictures. They spent many weekends just hanging out and sharing ideas. You can see/purchase the final version here.

But I’m not a writer, you say. Not a problem.

Kids have an endless imagination. Some can draw, others create stories. You can be the organizer, encouraging their art and giving them direction, giving you an opportunity to understand where their mind is, what challenges they face today, not a simple task for this generation.

With a story book produced by you and the kids, they will notice the time you set aside for them. They will notice the encouragement you offer. In our world of social media and screen time, kids need this more than ever. Once the project is complete, make certain to follow through! Give it a proper sendoff, showing the kids how proud you are.

Suggestions:

Be the one who encourages a child’s love of reading and learning.

Build memories that will last a lifetime.
