Five years ago, I set out to capture the stories often told around our dinner table - tales shared between me, my husband, and our three kiddos. What started as a simple exercise in preserving family history quickly grew into something more. Before I knew it, those memories had turned into characters, settings, and full-fledged story arcs - all the ingredients a real book needs.
In 2020, I published my very first novel, The Most Spectacular Traveling Box. While it wasn’t one of our dinnertime stories, it was a tale that captured my imagination and lit a creative fire that hasn’t gone out since. That year, I learned so much about storytelling, the publishing process, and the joy (and chaos) of being an indie author.
I’ve built worlds stretching from the dust storms of the Great Depression to the high seas adventure of Hudson’s Piratey Summer. Each story has been a new adventure - and every word, a reminder of why I started writing in the first place.
Thank you to every reader, parent, and young dreamer who’s supported these stories.
Your encouragement keeps this indie author’s dream alive - to entertain kids, spark their imaginations, and remind them just how important community really is.
Here’s to the next five years of stories yet to be told.
